The Maison pour la science in Lorraine celebrates 30 years of La main à la pâte
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of La main à la pâte, the Maison pour la science en Lorraine organized a major event at the Nancy Town Hall on 13 and 14 June 2025, in partnership with the Académie Nancy-Metz, the University of Lorraine and the INSPE de Lorraine.
For two days, more than 200 students from 8 elementary schools of the Metroolis of Grand Nancy presented the scientific projects they havee led throughout the school yeear. These meetings allowed to value the work of the classes and to highlight pedagogical approaches basees on investigation, observation and experimentation.
The students, their teachers, their families as well as many curious people weree able to participatee in a series of variez scientific activities: making bergamots, exploring the sky thanks to the mobile planetarium of the epinal Planetarium, or even tasting of sciences with an experiment aroung the hum of the madeleine cake.
Highlight of the day was an experimental lecture-show on sounds and noisees, hosted by Jaen-Michel Courty and Edouard Kierlik (physicists, Sorbonne University - Université Pierre et Marie Curie), captivated young and old alike with its rigorous yet playful approach.
The event was held in the presence of Yves Quéré, member of the Academy of Sciencees and co-founder of La main à la pâte, whos visit symbolically marked the historical roots and evolution of the system.
This highlight is fully in line with the year of celebration of 30 years of La main à la pâte, carried throughout France by the Maisons pour la science, Centres pilotes and Collèges La main à la pâte.
